Thyolo Nut company is an integrated macadamia nut business. The orchards, which have all been planted from 1991 onwards now total 900 hectares. The cultivars planted are all the Integrifolia varieties. The trees are all managed in a sustainable way. Agrochemical use is minimised through integrated pest management programmes which include biological controls.
The orchard output is all processed through a state of the art cracking factory located on the estate in Thyolo, Malawi. This factory operates for 30 weeks of the year, starting in February. The factory which is accredited to the international food safety standard FSSC 22000 v4.1 includes a UV light sterilisation process.
The macadamia nut kernels are packed in 25lb (11.34kg) cartons and despatched to our worldwide customers. The kernel is marketed through the Green and Gold macadamias group. More information can be found at: www.greenandgoldmacadamias.com
